BURDEN OF THE CITY

Burden of the City series explores people’s relation to the modern metropolis. Every year, there are more and more people living in urban areas, making use of their advantages, but also feeling its burden from time to time, and some even constantly. At the end, the city is only possible thanks to each of us. We hold the city with our backs and shoulders; we support it but also feel its burden. The human beings depicted in the paintings are distorted by the heaviness of the metropolis and awaiting nature’s return. Each of them deals with the city in his own way, but also as a group, collectively.
